Welcome back, and welcome to Saloni’s new store
Well, Yahoo Web Hosting decided to eat the old blog, so this template is new and … empty. Sigh.
Stephen probably never had what it takes to be a blogger anyway. Want to know what he thinks? Follow him on Twitter., where he’s @moneymedia.
In happier technology news, Saloni launched an online store for Nine Rubies! She’s still taking photos of a lot of yarn as well as announcing “instant sales” on Facebook.
There are still many categories of yarn in the physical store that aren’t yet online, but many are, like: Malabrigo Merino Worsted, Noro Silk Garden, Plymouth Encore Colorspun Worsted, and even things that, frankly, I don’t comprehend (Be Sweet Bambino Taffy). (Yes, Google, I’m talking to you.)
Stephen – Sorry to hear about your blog. You should visit the Wayback Machine (http://web.archive.org/) and type in your URL. They have archived some, not all, of your posts. Mostly the old ones.
You can also run a Google search query for your URL and view the cached pages (the query will return your site as the top result; click the link that says “cached” just under the listing)…this will allow you to retrieve the first page of your blog (the most recent posts). Also note the link, “More results from oct17.com ยป” under the second-ranked search result)…this will give you access to several other pages that Google has cached. Google supposedly only keeps their data for 2 years, but between them and the wayback machine you should be able to recover a decent portion of your work.
Hope that helps! I read your blog from time to time; you may not recognize my name but I am the scruffy-looking nerfherder from Download.com who worked with/for you briefly when you redesigned ZDnet Downloads in 2003). Cheers and good luck!
Hi Stephen
What the heck – where are all of BCHS pics gone?
Swati
@Swati We have the photos of The Boy, but they’ve moved mainly to Facebook.
